This discussion paper integrates two separate nationally representative surveys of Tajikistan (conducted in late 2016) analyzing the determinants and associations of undernutrition and stunting with food calories consumed, food diversity, WASH services, health services, and care practices. It concluded that nutrition interventions should address multiple risk factors and that there is a need for a focus on calorie consumption and food diversity in rural areas.
