Evaluación del Plan Quinquenal de Educación Intercultural Bilingüe

Intercultural Bilingual Education (IBE) focuses on indigenous knowledge and ensures children develop speaking and writing skills in their aboriginal language and Spanish.

In January 2021, UNICEF Panama Country Office completed the Evaluation of the Five-Year Plan for IBE. The evidence generated of the results achieved by the Plan in the seven indigenous peoples will be used by the Ministry of Education to improve policies and programs. Findings suggested the need to review the existing EIB governance framework. UNICEF Panama will provide technical support to MEDUCA to implement some of the recommendations of the evaluation.
