Inequalities in child health in India

This article reviews the high prevalence of child mortality in India and within its different states. Poverty, malnutrition, and poor sanitation are explored as major drivers of child mortality. The authors turn to Kerala, the state with the lowest child mortality rates in India, as a potential example that other states in India could follow to reduce child mortality rates.
