UNICEF delivered four tons of essential hygiene supplies

Palanca, February 26, 2022. The UNICEF Moldova team traveled today to the Palanca crossing point on the border of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, where the Temporary Refugee Center is located, offering a first batch of humanitarian aid to refugees with children.

UNICEF delivered four tons of basic hygiene products, including diapers, disinfectants, wipes, totaling to about 150 thousand lei.

Today, UNICEF's technical mission conducted a rapid needs assessment at the Palanca crossing point and at the Refugee Transit Center.

UNICEF has a long history of working in emergencies and humanitarian contexts, both natural and man-made. Originally called the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, the organization was created to provide humanitarian assistance to children living in a world shattered by the Second World War.  

UNICEF will continue, together with other UN agencies, to support families and children affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
