Welcome to The Voices : Brixton
About this event
Voices: Brixton is a safe space for people from different ethnicities and faiths to come together and share their stories. We want to use oral history interviewing to help people connect, build greater understanding, and increase social cohesion. It is a series of in-person link ups, with it becoming a support network for the members who wish to stay in touch and create lasting friendships.
Voices: Brixton is a chance to communicate shared experiences of the impact of issues surrounding the future of our neighbourhood. Voices: Brixton will be designed to ensure that people have the choice to speak up or listen and be inspired – it’s up to you.
We Grow Together
We hope that united by a shared aim - improving our neighbourhood - people will come together, build lasting friendships, and create sustainable relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
We use traditional and digital storytelling techniques to bring people from diverse faiths and ethnicities together to engage in constructive healing dialogue.
We hope this will enable people to share their most poignant experiences in their own words.
We hope that participants will learn coping skills that will help them support each other, grow, and make positive contributions to their neighbourhood.
